Lending a Helping Hand

Posted in ,
We had a guest speaker at school today. Now usually, these people are boring and i lose interest within the first two minutes. Today, it was a totally different story. Because today, the guy who stood up and talked to us, he captured my heart to the point where I had tears in my eyes. He was a missionary from Hands at Work, an organisation that is trying to help aid the situation of poverty in Africa. The videos we witnessed were unbelievably inspiring, heartbreaking, sad, and beautiful at the same time. It made me seriously realise how much I take for granted, how much so many people take for granted! I know you're probably saying, oh I've heard it all before. But I'm being honest here, this really has changed me in a way i thought impossible. I have literally changed. From that 50 minutes of a lecture, I have realised things, matured, grown as a person, etc. I literally cried, it got to me that much. I mean, how embarrassing right.. but.. it's just helped me. Helped me realise. That I need to appreciate my life, and what I have. There are people out there suffering, and they dont even have a choice! And you know, we can make that change. As people who have hearts, we can help them. We can make a difference. Every little thing we offer, is going to make a difference. Whether its our prayers, or $15 per month, or telling others.. its going to make a difference.
Heres a video off youtube, and its one of the videos from that someone thats helped in the organisation. You can also visit the website : http://www.handsatwork.org/

Do it for them, for this world and for yourself.
Every bit makes a difference.

Peace xo
